Terms of Service

SubKu is a free local subtitle-extraction tool that recognizes subtitles in video frames, organizes the results and produces SRT files. It does not provide video hosting, cloud backup or human review.

You may process only videos you have the right to use and must follow applicable copyright, privacy and other laws. Do not use the service to infringe another person's rights, process illegal content or disrupt the site.

You keep the rights you already have in your videos and output. Using this tool does not give SubKu ownership of your content or give you rights you did not already have in the source video or subtitles.

Automatic recognition may produce incorrect text, inaccurate timing or missing subtitles. Review results before using or publishing them. Do not rely on unreviewed output where complete accuracy is required.

Subtitle records are mainly stored in your browser and may be lost if site data is cleared, the device fails or storage is limited. Download or export important results as your own backup. See the Privacy Policy for details.

We may update, limit, suspend or discontinue the service. Support varies by browser, device and video format. We do not promise that the service will always be available, error-free or suitable for every purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is,” without guarantees of accuracy, continued availability or protection against data loss. SubKu and its maintainers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
